Room for one moooooore

(I promise I'll return to non-college hockey content very soon)
With all due respect to my esteemed colleague Kevin over at the MojoBeard, I would like to formally express my rooting interest for the University of Michigan in tonight's NCAA men's hockey final, 7 PM EST on ESPN.  Here's hoping that these guys
can complete a dream season in which they exceeded expectations (none more than former walk-on goalie Shawn Hunwick, whose birthday it is today!) and bring home Michigan's 10th hockey title, for which there's plenty of room on this guy:
Yessir, that's a lot of titles, but there's certainly ROOM FOR ONE MOOOOOOORE!
The best part was when the buildings fell down!
Big ups to my homeboy and fellow Michigan fan over at Emerald City Diamond Gems for also showing his support.

In summary,

EDIT, 10:20 PM:  Well, I have to congratulate UMD on a great game.  In the end, Michigan took too many stupid penalties, was sloppy passing, and iced the puck too much at the end of the game, setting up a golden chance for the Bulldogs that they buried for their first title.  I'm still very proud of the Wolverines, who most definitely exceeded all expectations.  Some players will leave due to graduation, but the underclassmen will surely be hungry to return to that title game and finish what they started.
It's a shame that falling a bit short has been a recurring theme the last 15-20 years of the program, but it's still the flagship program of the NCAA and we were fortunate to win a couple titles in the mid-late 90s.  Michigan holds the record for most Frozen Four appearances and titles, and I don't think we're in any danger of ceding those records to other contenders.
Here's to a fantastic season that finished just a bit short, but should be recognized as an outstanding effort by an overachieving team.  Congratulations to Minnesota-Duluth, and GO BLUE!

  1. GO BLUE!! GO BLUE!! I don't watch them unless they are in the Frozen Four, but you know where my rooting interest will be tonight. There will be at least one Michigan in the Seattle area.
