2026 eBay purchase: Kalel, yes!

It's been a few weeks since I was able to say this, but happily Michigan Football returned to the win column today in a close one over Penn State. That was enough to get me to finally write up the next post I've been meaning to do, one which covers my most recent personal eBay pickup.

I've actually only spent money on that site nine times (NINE TIMES?) this year, five of which have been for myself, and none since mid-June. And as it turns out, tonight's card is from an auction I won back on my birthday in May:

Out of last year's Score product, this here is the Magenta Plate used to produce the RC of Michigan RB Kalel Mullings, who was no Superman, but still enjoyed plenty of highlights during his Michigan career. He was primarily a backup behind the likes of Hassan Haskins and Blake Corum, but he managed to contribute some key plays over his first three non-redshirt seasons, and managed to finish his career with a spotless 4-0 record against Ohio State, not to mention a ring for the 2023 championship season.

With legendary RB Blake Corum riding off into the sunset after that magical season, Mullings got to be "the man" in 2024, and his stats show that he earned the starting job with 12 TDs, 5.1 YPA, and almost 950 yards, plus some more key plays like a long, multiple-tackle-breaking run that helped the Wolverines upset USC.

He was drafted in the sixth round by Tennessee in 2025, and while he hasn't found the endzone for the Titans yet over 10 career games (nine last season), he did well to get himself drafted. Not bad for a converted LB! I'd say at least his college career is enough to earn the reverse of one of the worst delivered lines in cinematic history:

So anyway, I was happy to add a 1/1 of Mullings, in his UM duds no less, to my collection, and for a bit under $10. Once again, those full color backs on metal plates look amazing!

Now will I manage to get my next post up before Michigan plays their next game, a very tough matchup with Indiana? I don't know, but I sure do have lots to show off, so maybe!
